Community members choose their own level of involvement, working on various teams, projects, and social activities.

As well, Creekside Commons is adjacent to a park with extensive wooded walking trails.


This 2007 quality-built and well-maintained 1,500 sq. ft. duplex home has four bedrooms –two up and two down – two full baths, and a storage/laundry room over a clean, dry, heated three-foot crawl space. The open concept, vaulted ceiling living space is filled with light, including five skylights, and opens onto the private back patio through French doors. All main floor rooms have 36” doors to allow aging in place. The main floor has new vinyl flooring with cork underlay (2017), while the stairs and upper floor have wool carpet in good condition. In 2019, window film was installed on all skylights to provide both winter insulation and summer heat reduction. The downstairs rear bedroom is a quiet space that overlooks the private back yard. It sits next to a full bath. Together they could be used as a more private guest area.

The downstairs front bedroom has a large window and could also be used as an office or studio. The closet is 4’8” long. The window has window film tinting for privacy and to reduce solar heating.  

Upstairs are two bedrooms with a full bathroom between them. 


The upper back (master) bedroom overlooks a quiet community orchard as well as Capes Park in the distance. The front bedrooms face west over the commons.

Storage and Laundry Room

A storage and laundry room under the stairs includes a stacked Asko washer and dryer purchased in 2017. This room provides shelf space for pantry items or tools and has space for a deep freezer as desired. The crawlspace is accessed from this room.  The heated crawlspace is under the entire home for more storage and easy access to plumbing and wiring.


A covered back patio allows three season enjoyment. The back yard is considered private space. Behind this unit is the community orchard. As well, a green belt creates space between Unit #410 and the neighbouring strata. Further in view is the mature forest of Capes Park.


The small front yard includes a porch and opens onto a shared outdoor space where neighbours gather in good weather to enjoy each other’s company.

Unit #410 was part of a community initiative of solar panel instillation in 2019. There are nine solar panels on this unit.

The Community

Creekside Commons was founded in 2007 and has grown into a wonderful, friendly, and cooperative community. The Creekside strata has a healthy contingency fund for future repairs and servicing. Creekside is a model of effective decision making. Owners participate in running the community through consensus decision making and volunteer labour. Strata fees are currently $281 per month.
